Unexpected Biodiversity

  • Salt Pond Visitor Center 50 Nauset Road Eastham, MA 02642 (map)

Have you ever wondered what lives down below the water? Agnes Mittermayr will talk about the unexpected biodiversity of invertebrates around the Lower Cape (or CACO), show pictures of microscopic animals that we share our beaches with and explain how the physical world influences biological patterns. Agnes Mittermayr is a marine ecologist at the Center for Coastal Studies specializing in the ecosystems on the bottom of the ocean. She holds a PhD in Biological Oceanography and is particularly interested in how ecosystems react to and recover from human caused disturbance. Indoor program.

Clymenella torquata

Weekly, evening programs at Salt Pond Visitor Center are sponsored by Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
