· ADOPT-A-TRAIL

Volunteers at Pamet Bog House Friends working on the trail at the Pamet Bog House

We perform regular maintenance on selected trails within the Seashore. In general this involves clearing light brush, replacing broken fences and repairing eroded areas. We currently help to maintain seven of the park's most popular trails. With additional volunteers we could add two more. This activity is ideal for volunteers since it allows them to establish their own schedule.

· ONE-TIME OPPORTUNITIES

Headquarters-Public Lands Day, September 2009

We have two annual Saturday projects that involve just a few hours of volunteer time. In April we celebrate Earth Day with beach and roadside clean-ups at selected areas in the park. In September we participate in Public Lands Day by helping with a planting or maintenance project in conjunction with park personnel. At other times we respond to Seashore needs as requested. For example, shown at the top of this page are our volunteers helping to remove invasive bittersweet to improve the view of Salt Pond.
